Grand Opening of Carillon Aparthotel in the Heart of Old Riga

May 22, 2026

On Thursday, 21 May, the grand opening of the Carillon Aparthotel, part of the Keystone Collection hotel chain, took place.

Welcome speeches at the opening ceremony were delivered by the Mayor of Riga, Viesturs Kleinbergs, Chairman of the Board of AmberStone Hotels Jānis Vilisons, Chairman of the Board of Pillar Contractor Jānis Lāčaunieks, as well as the hotel’s architect, Vilnis Mičulis.

As previously reported, following approximately two years of reconstruction and restoration works, Carillon Aparthotel welcomed its first guests in December 2025. The hotel is located at 13 Pils Street, in the very heart of Old Riga – just a few steps away from the Presidential Castle, museums, and the city’s most popular leisure destinations, making it an ideal choice both for short city breaks in the old town and for extended stays.

Carillon Aparthotel offers 61 apartments, ranging from compact Superior rooms to spacious family apartments and elegant Ыuite apartments. All apartments are equipped with convenient kitchen areas, functional workspaces, and thoughtfully designed layouts, allowing guests to feel like home.

As part of the reconstruction, an energy-efficient heating system was installed, the internal engineering networks were modernised, and silent ventilation and air-conditioning systems were fitted throughout the building. The interiors were designed in an Art Deco and Art Nouveau aesthetic, using natural materials and a refined colour palette to create a sophisticated yet welcoming atmosphere.

With the opening of the new hotel, the development of the Keystone Collection hotel network – launched in 2023 – has now been completed. The collection currently includes two hotels: Konventa Sēta Hotel and Carillon Aparthotel. Both properties are located within a few minutes’ walk of one another and complement each other naturally. The key advantage of Carillon Aparthotel is that it is particularly well suited to travellers planning to stay in Riga for a longer period – weeks or even months.

The interiors and design of both hotels were created by Latvian architects and designers, while the reconstruction and restoration works were carried out by the team at Pillar Contractor, with particular attention paid to preserving the historical heritage of the buildings.
